Standing at 103 feet (31 m), the historic Sandy Hook Lighthouse turned 254 years old on June 11, 2018. This lighthouse was lit for the first time on June 11, 1764. Additionally, it's strategic geographic location is at the entrance into lower New York Harbor, making it the perfect location to help guide sailing ships safely into the harbor.

The development of the original lighthouse began in June 1834, at a cost of $6,000 to build. The origional was 40 ft tall (12 m). Then in 1855, Lt. George G. Meade (Designer of the Absecon Light), designed a new lighthouse. Barnegat Light was commissioned on January 1, 1859 and cost a total of $40,000 to build. The lens alone cost $15,000. The tower light was 172 feet (52 m) above sea level and the lighthouse itself was 163 feet (50 m) tall.

The Cape May Light house was built in 1859.

Located in Cape May Point State Park( Lower Township NJ). The current tower, which is the third lighthouse recorded at the southern tip of New Jersey, has helped mariners navigate since its opening. An estimated 2.5 million visitors have climbed the lighthouse since it opened  to the public in 1988. Additionally the Oil House on the ground houses the Visitors' Orientation Center and Museum Shop. It was built under the supervision of U.S. Army engineer William F. Raynolds, was automated in 1946, and continues operation to this day.

The Cape Lookout Lighthouse is 163-foot high and was origionally built in 1812. Consisting of one wooden and one brick tower, costing more than $20,000 to build. It is located on the Southern Outer Banks of North Carolina where it flashes every 15 seconds and can be seen from at least 12 miles out to sea. The Cape Lookout Light is one of the very few lighthouses that operate during the day and became fully automated in 1950.

The Cape Hatteras Lighthouse is the tallest brick lighthouse ever built. It stands at 150ft tall and has been guiding ships past one of the most trechorous stretches of the outer banks, NC since its opening in 1803. Its black and white candy-cane stripes have contributed to making it one of the most famous and recognizable lighthouses to date. The current lighthouse is the second to sit at this location and has a light that spans 20 miles into the ocean. Each year, over 175,000 people climb the 257 steps to the top where the lens is located. It was first lit after its second construction  on December 1, 1870 and is still in use today.
